Dvonn

Dvonn is an abstract stragegy game for 2 players where the object is to capture the most pieces.

Setup phase - White places a red Dvonn piece, Black places a red Dvonn piece, then White places a red Dvonn piece, now Black places a black piece, then white alternating till the board is filled.

Now the board is filled and the game is ready to begin.

Start game

White goes first and moves a piece. Pieces must always move in a line.

White moves one space onto a black piece.

Black moves on top of the white piece to form a 3 stack.

White moves from bottom left on to black piece (near bottom). Now black moves the 3 stack three spaces. You can only move a stack the number of spaces as high as the stack and never onto an empty space.

Black now forms a stack of five.

Black moves onto a red Dvonn piece.

And now black is able to control if he wishes to move the red Dvonn stack.

Red Dvonn pieces

All pieces at all times must be connected to a red Dvonn 'life' piece. If not connected then the pieces are taken out of the game immediately. Black moves the black piece onto his own.

Thus by doing so the four stacks of pieces on the bottom are NOT connected to a red Dvonn piece.

So the bottom four stacks are removed from the game immediately.

Black moves his 3 stack three spaces onto a white piece following the line.

Thus black makes a 4 stack.

White moves his 2 stack two spaces onto the 6 stack.

Thus white now owns the 8 stack.

End of game

Near the end of the game. You may NOT pass and if you can move you MUST move even if it'll cost you. So blacks only move is his 2 stack move two spaces onto his 3 stack.

Whites last move is his 2 stack onto the the 10 stack.

Game is over so the white stacks his 3 stacks to form one stack and black stacks his 2 stacks on top of each other.

White wins the game with the highest stack of 18 pieces compared to blacks stack of 14 pieces.
