Install Mepis Linux dual-boot Windows
Following the installation guide except don't choose Auto-install using
entire disk. You have to create custom partitions and choose your
partitions accordingly.
Choose Custom install on existing partitions. But first
Run QTParted.
I split the QTParted screenshot in half but here it's showing my 80GB
harddrive.

hda1 is my existing windows C drive, hda2 is extended partition, hda5
is my windows D drive, then I created a / (root) partition of 4.93GB on
hda6, on hda7 a 258MB linux-swap drive. It's really easy to use QTParted
just don't forget to commit your changes and I recommend rebooting once
after you created them and then returning to this point.
Choose the partitions MEPIS Linux should use like so.
Install GRUB in: MBR and choose your system boot disk
to be the active partition in this case is hda. Everything
else is similiar to the above guide...this few extra steps is all that's
required when dual-booting with a windows installation.
